The Story Behind Bara Asah
My journey into leather craftsmanship began in 2011. At first, I didn't have a formal name for what I was doing. For two years, I simply studied, explored, and created, allowing my hands and heart to guide me.
One day, while reading a book related to the Bible, I was deeply drawn to two Hebrew words: "Bara" and "Asah." These words hold profound meaning for me:
"Bara" means to create — bringing forth something entirely new from nothing.
"Asah" means to make — refining and shaping what already exists.
These two words perfectly represent the mindset and philosophy behind our work. Inspired by their significance, I saw my journey as a process of creation. Starting with a simple piece of leather, I gradually crafted something warm and full of soul, through patience and heartfelt effort.
In 2015, we officially opened our shop "Bara Asah Workshop", a place where our passion and craftsmanship could come together and grow.
This journey reminds us that true beauty isn’t just in the act of making, but in the ongoing process of improvement and refinement. Guided by the spirit of "Bara Asah," we humbly continue on this path.

我的皮革工藝之旅開始於2011年。起初，我沒有特別的起什麼正式的名字，在兩年時間裡，我只是默默地在學習，享受探索和創作，讓雙手和心靈引導我。
之後有一天，我正在閱讀與聖經相關的書，突然間有兩個希伯來文單字「Bara」與「Asah」深深吸引了我，這兩個詞對我來說有著深刻的含義：
Bara － 創造，從無到有，孕育出全新的事物。
Asah － 製作，將現有的素材加以提煉與塑造。
這兩個詞完美地代表了我們的心境與理念。受到它們的啟發，我把我的旅程看作是一種創造的過程。從一塊簡單的皮革出發，透過雙手與心意，慢慢打磨出有溫度、有靈魂的作品。
直到2015年，我們正式開設了「Bara Asah Workshop」，一個讓我們的熱情和技藝得以融合並持續成長的地方。
這段旅程提醒我們，真正的美麗不僅在於製作，更來自不斷的改進與精進。受到「Bara Asah」精神的指引，我們懷著謙卑的心，持續在這條路上前行。

Our Craft and Philosophy
Bara Asah Workshop is based in Hong Kong, where we craft custom handmade leather goods. From drawing and cutting to sewing and polishing, every step is done carefully by experienced artisans. We believe that handmade work is more special than mass production. Each piece has its own character and soul.
Leather is a living material. Over time, it changes naturally. Its color deepens, its smell matures, and its texture evolves with use. These natural marks create a special bond between the piece and its owner, telling personal stories and showing individual style. Creating with leather is not just about skill, but about reflecting beauty and warmth. We want each piece we make to be useful and meaningful, carrying the human touch and the spirit of creation.

Bara Asah Workshop 創立於香港，，我們專注於手工定制皮革用品。從畫圖、裁剪到縫合、打磨，每一個步驟都由有經驗的工匠細心完成。我們相信，手工製作比大量生產更有特別的意義。每一件作品都具有獨特的個性和靈魂。
皮革是一種有生命的材料。隨著時間，它會自然變化，色澤逐漸加深，香氣也會越來越醇厚，質感也會隨著使用而演變。這些自然的痕跡，讓作品與使用者之間建立起一種深刻的連結，講述個人故事，展現獨特風格。用皮革創作不僅是技藝，更是展現美麗與溫暖。希望每一件我們做的作品都能實用且有意義，帶有人的溫度和創作的精神。
